Cattle farming in Colombia

We trade cattle together with two family-run partner operations in Colombia. Alongside that run the grow-out, the sale of milk and the breeding of young stock. The operations sit in the departamentos of Córdoba and Antioquia, two of the largest cattle regions in the country.

How we work

We buy animals in, let them grow out on the partner operations and sell them on. Running alongside that is the breeding of young stock, and the dairy side delivers every day regardless.

Decisions about herd, pasture and staff stay where they belong: on the ground. We don’t put a manager from Pfäffikon on a finca in Córdoba. Someone who has known for thirty years when the water comes does not need a weekly report from Switzerland.

What happens on the pasture

Fencing, water points, genetics and time: that is what decides how an animal grows. It is work that pays off over years, and it needs somebody who stays.

That is exactly where we participate.

Regions

We work with two family-run operations, both in the same place for decades. The herd moves with the trade, so no head count is given here.
